Very Interesting, but a Watchtower is also a symbol straight from scripture. Just because the JW's use the Watchtower symbol doesn't mean they have borrowed it from occultic practices. That's fallacious reasoning. It's like saying that because the JW's use the word "Hall' for their places of meeting, they must have borrowed it from Freemasons because they have Masonic halls.

Cross is a pagan symbol, watchtower is a pagan symbol too
by Noelle inyou all jehovah witnesses that said jesus didn't die on a cross but on a stake your wrong because the romans were pagans and what better way to crucify someone than on a pagan symbol.
i have a fact that you need to listen to as well, the watchtower which you symbolize is a pagan symbol as well.
oh no how can that be you ask, well let me tell you.. in ceremonial magic and some traditions of wicca and neopaganism, the four cardinal points are believed to have spiritual guardians called watchtowers.

Do JWs Shun You?
by minimus inrecently, i've heard from various jw family members that either i am viewed as "close to being an apostate" because i had made some comments suggesting that the fds is clearly wrong on many issues over the years or that i "have left jehovah" and therefor by my new way of life, i must be shunned.
while visiting my dying non jw uncle in the hospital, i was told outrightly that it was wished that i never showed my face and that my mere presence was objectionable and that since i "left jehovah", they could not talk to me any longer.. their viewpoints saddened me because they said all this in front of my uncle who can barely respond to anything.
his reaction: he cried his eyes out!

What a heartless family you have. This kind of experience proves to me that JW's not only do NOT love anyone but themselves but they actually HATE non-JW's.

JW Make Paradise Earth? 2 Peter 3:10 says "Nope."
by sacolton in10 but the day of the lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of god, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?.
i remember the long talks on how as dubs would begin to restore earth as a paradise ... how we would have to take all the buildings down (skyscrapers too?

You've got to be kidding me. 2 Peter 3:10 is clearly not literal; its symbolic.

I was a bit puzzled by their reasoning and found it rather unconvincing. It was the catalyst to my leaving the borg a few years later.

Apply PHILOSOPHY to the argument of the TRINITY
by Terry inthe trinity doctrine is a conceptual classification.
it is not a thing itself.
we don't bump into a trinity in everyday life.

Don't Show Mercy to the Watchtower
by metatron incompassion and forgiveness are important qualities for all of us - but that said, this is not the time to 'let up' or start showing mercy to .
let's consider three ways in which they hurt people:.
first, they injure or wreck families.

You forgot their flawed policy on child abuse. The application by the society of the 'two-witness' rule to accusations of paedophilia is EVIL EVIL EVIL. They deserve no mercy whatsoever for this awful policy.

England 2 USA 0
by digderidoo inwell i said i wouldn't watch the game but i changed my mind.. ok it was only a friendly, but i have come here to gloat our victory.
usa were poor.. i was impressed with the england fans not booing the american national anthem, sung beautifully by kelly rowland.
a bit different to the ricky hatton fight in vegas.

Yes I believe they do. They are captives of their own concept.

meetings once a week
by Kosonen inmeetings once a week is sufficient according to the bible.
in ezekiels tempel vision we get direction to how often meetings should be hold.
ezekiel 46:1,3:this is what the sovereign lord jehovah has said, as regards the gate of the inner courtyard that is facing east, it should continue shut for the six workdays, and on the sabbath day it should be opened, and on the day of the new moon it should be opened.3and the people of the land must bow down at the entrance of that gate on the sabbaths and on the new moons, before jehovah.. a similar thougth you find in isaiah 66:23. an extra meeting once a month could be nice too.. .

You are absolutely right; there is no scriptural reason or precedent whatsoever to have more than one weekly meeting. Thanks for those scriptures.
